Neighbors

Perhaps an explanation for why there are so many police cars running up and down Swenson day and night.   This, just a block from my new home, is the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept, Convention Center Area Command.

These are the folks who will enforce the peace when the midwestern regional bi-annual insurance blow-out gets out of hand.

Incidentally, in the foreground is a concrete pad and parking lot, mostly overgrown with weeds.   Outlines of equipment and walls can still be seen on the pad.   More than likely the remains of a rival "Police Department" which was eliminated with extreme prejudice.

Furst to ask:

When the local businesses and commercial real estate cannot even afford to pick weeds or maintain a PARKING lot can METRO afford a PALACE?

Doesn't Metro have something better to do like say - shoot people at Costco or seize teenagers for CPS?

Lmao. Hard times in Vegas. Means Metro gets ugly on the citizens they are supposed to serve.

I don't have any personal experience with the police in LV.   And the Costco shooting does sound like one serious fuck-up.   But, based on the people I see every day outside the building, I'm glad there's a cop-shop just a block away.

Every now and then when your life gets complicated and the weasels start closing in, the only cure is to load up on heinous chemicals and then drive like a bastard from Hollywood to Las Vegas ... with the music at top volume and at least a pint of ether.

Dedicated to the other side of Las Vegas, namely; the sprawling, mad, incoherent underpinnings of the world's favorite destination.

That, and the occasional ranting about nothing in particular.
